About Mark

Mark was born in the 20th century. He is a professional hiker who is not after the athletic trophies but goes in for jogging to propagate healthy way of life. Mark himself is a healthy man who has never been down with the cold. He has studies to be a trainer in hand-to-hand fighting, has worked as an instructor in the former militia and in present police force. He has long been engaged in parachute jumping with over 2900 jumps to his credit up to now.

His hobby is flying the paraglider, and that in the French Alps. In the summer of 2003 he descended from Mont Blanc on paraglider He started managing hiking tours as a group leader at the time of "perestroika" when first private companies appeared. Together with another well-known Estonian hiker Enn Käiss they arranged an Estonian company, the first of its kind in the former USSR. This company arranged hiking tours for numerous participants to discover different parts of the then Soviet Union, such as Kamchatka, the Kuril Islands, the Kara Kum desert and more.

At present Mark works as a trainer and lecturer, and in summer as a guide in the French Alps where he often leads the conquerors of Mont Blanc. He himself has been on top of this mountain more than 30 times already. Practically every year he helps to make arrangements for new EXTREME TRAVEL. One of these trips has taken him to a sparsely inhabited area in Kamchatka in winter time, and on three different times he has walked across the Sahara Desert solo in September, the hottest period in this area (Morocco- West Sahara Republic - Mauritania - Senegal).

In 2014 Mark celebrated the 50th year of his mountaineering experiences.
